Jinshan Temple

Specification: 1 episode, 35min

The Jinshan Temple was built during the period of Emperor Ming of the Eastern Jin Dynasty. Located on the desert island in the Yangtze River, the Jinshan Temple was situated in Jinshan Mountain and surrounded by water. However, things have changed as time went by, and the great changes of geographical architecture have witnessed the ebbs and flows of times and the ups and downs of the Jinshan Temple. The first Shui-Lu Rite in the history of Chinese Buddhism was held and carried forward in the Jinshan Temple. Attracted by the unique scenery and atmosphere of the Jinshan Temple, a great number of emperors, heroes, literati and scholars have come here and left their own legends and stories, among whom Emperor Qianlong, Su Dongpo, and Monk Fahai are the most famous ones. The Jinshan Temple has suffered many disastrous strikes in the past dynasties, along with seven rises and falls. However, after renovation and expansion, the Jinshan Temple has already taken on a new look. Up to now, the Temple remains one of the oldest Zen temples in China and is the most famous tourist site in Zhenjiang.
